Tricks to Start Research

When starting to compose a thesis or dissertation, students must be wondering, and often post on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. "Ask for the title of the research, please?" "What's the title?", "I don't have a title yet?", "My title was rejected?", "How do I compose a title?", as if the title is the most important part in compiling a thesis. As if without a title, you cannot write a thesis/dissertation. In fact, writing a thesis/dissertation does not only depend on the title. It is precisely the most important thing is to determine the research theme first, the research theme is related to the problem that occurs, after determining the theme, make sure the data is available (if using secondary data), or can be searched (if using primary data).

The following are the stages of writing a thesis/dissertation/journal:

1. Determine the research theme to be discussed.
2. Formulate a draft research title.
3. Identify and formulate research problems.
4. Determine the objectives and benefits of the research.
5. Identify and understand the variables or concepts contained in the research
6. Design and formulate research designs
7. Formulate research hypotheses
8. Conduct a literature study
9. Formulate and prepare research instruments
10. Conducting field studies (flied research), by means of observation, interviews, distributing questionnaires or questionnaires, and studying documentation.
11. Analyze the data obtained during the field study.
12. Write a scientific research report or thesis.

In essence, if you are going to start writing research there are three big steps to take:

  1. Determine the theme (research problem),
  2. data exploration,
  3. Start writing.
